When we first started our company, we had no idea what it took to run a business the proper way. I was starting out as a paralegal, and all I knew was I did not want to work for anyone else on a 9-5. Even when I worked for attorneys, I would go in as an independent contractor.
What I Didn’t Know
Knowing I could make money doing whatever it is I chose with the right marketing, I went for it in the legal field. The business started out by me going to the county office and filing my company’s DBA (bad idea, find out why in the next article), then I took some training in the field I wanted to be in. I went to school for four years in the discipline of law, and then I took training in credit repair and became certified. Well, that was all great. Clients came in slowly, but it wasn’t enough to live off of.
It wasn’t until I started really investing in myself personally that I saw my business start to grow. I went to my first major credit repair retreat in Orlando, Florida in 2015. There I met the industry leaders, and there is where the light bulb switched on in my head.
When the Growth Started
For years, we were trying to run the business off the back of my personal credit. That only got us so far. My investing into my mind led me to find the knowledge about business credit, and that’s when the business started taking off. My first major client was also a case study so to speak. I implanted full-on everything I had learned in law school, credit repair, and business credit training into this client to make their business grow. And boy did it grow! That client went from $250,000 a year to $1.4 million and growing a year after working with our company. Not only that, but when my client grew, I grew! It was a win win situation.
I realized that I had been doing things wrong for years, because I just didn’t know what I didn’t know. It took me being willing to invest in myself to find out different.
Seminars have played a great part in the financial shift of my life and the business growth. Reading books by great authors have made such a big difference in my life. Things have changed for me financially, personally, and spiritually. I cannot be emphasized enough – the power of reading the Holy Bible. My favorite book is Proverbs. the Bible is filled with so much timeless wisdom. The principles to making money is found in this book. Interestingly enough it was written by most likely the richest man who has ever lived – King Solomon.
